Radnor’s reserve side clinched promotion on Saturday with a stoppage-time winner in the valley derby at Cae Coch, sparking celebrations that carried on well past the final whistle.
The goal, bundled in from a corner in the last minute of added time, settled a tense afternoon in which chances had been scarce at both ends.
A long season rewarded
Promotion caps a campaign that began badly, with the side bottom of the table after five games and short of players through injury.
- Eleven wins from the final fourteen fixtures
- The tightest defensive record in the division after Christmas
- A first promotion for the reserves in six seasons
The club now faces a step up in travel as well as standard, with several away fixtures next season a good hour beyond the valley. The committee said it would launch a minibus appeal over the winter to keep supporters travelling with the team.
